We do advise caution when handling this rope light as it is a 230 volts, mains product. Being LED the energy consumption of this rope light is considerably less filament bulb versions and this reel uses less than 100 watts. The lifespan of this rope light is around 30,000 hours from when it is first switched on, this is based on an un-modified length of 44 metres.
At Lights4fun we always recommend letting your rope light un reel itself over a few hours, rather than try and straighten immediately out of the box. This allows the wires inside the tube to naturally expand without causing damage. Most damage to rope lights is caused by poor installation and handling.
