IP ratings in general specify the protection of enclosures for electronic equipment from dust, solid objects and fluids. The first number refers to the protection against dust and solid objects and the second number refers to the protection against fluids and moisture.
All the outdoor professional quality Lights from Lights4fun are protected to a minimum of IP44 Standard. In the UK we understand the need to protect against rain and bad weather. We achieve this with strong rubber cables and double sealed 'caps' over the bulbs - as per our 100 bulbs connectible string light product PLR 080 -100 WGJ (as seen left).
