Safety

Each of the outdoor LED fairy lights sets we supply has IP44 certified weatherproof cabling, which ensures that the elements don't interfere with your lighting displays. This weatherproofing is essential to counteract the danger posed by outdoor electrical products in inclement weather. Without it the component parts could easily be damaged, or worse an animal or person could suffer electrocution.

Low Voltage Lights

This is further enforced by that LEDs provide a significantly safer option than other outdoor light fixtures due to their decreased voltage requirements. They can run from just 24v of electricity, which is significantly lower than most other lighting fixtures. This means that in damp conditions, whether outside or inside, an LED should be significantly safer than a standard incandescent or fluorescent bulb. It should be noted however that some fairy lights do require upwards of 240 volts, so always check beforehand.

Fuse Bulb Technology

When run in sequence, LEDs may be susceptible to being fused or burnt out, which could potentially damage the remaining fairy lights in the circuit. To prevent this eventuality from occurring most Lights4Fun fairy lights feature something called fuse bulb technology. In layman's terms this technology isolates the broken bulb and ensures that the remaining bulbs do not quickly follow suit, whilst maintaining the circuit.
