Rope Light Applications
As always, we can count on our flexible friends, the rope lights, to provide versatility of design. Message writing is always popular, thanks to the flex in the plastic tube. Simply unfurl the rope light to the desired letters and attach it to a board (black painted boards look best) with rope light clips.
LED rope lights are more reliable in the longer term even if they are slightly more expensive to buy. They will consume much less energy and never get hot. This means if you wish to have a break between rope light words - simply wrap some 'duck tape' to give you dark sections. We would not advise adding tape to traditional rope lights which generate heat.

Shapes & Picture Lighting Display
Patterns and shapes also make a striking display, especially for theme parties or occasions. Candles are particularly simple designs to make for the Christmas period, whilst those feeling ambitious may wish to go for a floral motif, working especially well with two or more interweaving colours. Practice by drawing a simple design without lifting your pen from the page, then try and imagine how much length you'll need based on how long you were drawing for and scale your shape appropriately. You may need an extra set of hands to help you shift the rope into the right place and secure them down, but don't hold back - just do whatever you feel capable of pulling off.
Party Rope Light Ideas
For a really glitzy effect, think about using rope lights to accentuate edges of steps, lining a staircase with rope light running flush with each step adds stylish showbiz glamour, though be careful to make it secure and not become a tripping hazard. Multi action (chasing) rope lights look simply amazing when running along the edges of buildings.
