Safety
As mentioned throughout the Lights4Fun website, LEDs are one of the safest lighting options available. Using only a fraction of the energy required to power a standard incandescent bulb and producing little or no heat, LEDs are the ideal lighting solution both in terms of savings and safety.
Low Voltage Lighting
Battery powered LED lights offer the same, if not greater, safety standards than their mains operated counterparts. Without the added potential risk provided by a mains current, the battery operated LEDs function at an extremely low voltage meaning that even a small shock is unlikely, should the product malfunction.
Indoor Usage
Most battery operated LED fairy lights can be used outdoors; however without the same weatherproofing accreditations as the mains powered sets, their primary role is as an indoor light.
Because of their flexibility, low voltage and minimal heat output, battery operated LEDs are becoming an increasingly popular decorative addition to floral displays and in hotels in place of candles. They may also be used to bring a little sparkle to clothing. Their excellent safety features also make them an extremely useful lighting solution in places where they are likely to come into contact with pets or children.
