Safety Lights4Fun Safety Guide

  • Always read and follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Pay particular attention to the 'intended use' for the lights you are about to use.
  • Never use 'indoor lights' outside.
  • Never insert or remove bulbs when the power is switched on.
  • Protect yourself, your family and pets by using only low voltage fairy lights indoors. Where ever possible use Low Voltage LED lights indoors.
  • Never place any lights that can get hot near furniture, fabrics or a real Christmas tree.
  • Consider carefully the positioning of lights, remembering that some Christmas lights generate a considerable amount of heat. Always keep lights clear of decorations and other flammable materials. Remember even on 'Low Voltage' sets, the bulbs can become hot and the transformers generate heat.
  • We would strongly recommend a safety cut out device or 'circuit breaker' to be used on all Christmas lights.
  • Carefully position cables to avoid a 'tripping' hazard.
  • Do not leave the lights on unattended. Always switch them off when you go to bed and also when you are out of the house.
  • Do not attempt to use or repair any Christmas lights, which have become damaged. Please recycle them.
  • Do not attempt to modify the wiring in any way on any product.
  • Modern LED Christmas lights have none replaceable bulbs. Do not attempt to modify or repair if they become damaged. Please re-cycle at your nearest point.
  • Do not run wiring under carpets - especially where they could be walked upon and become damaged.
  • Take care when hanging lights, that you use a stable method of support. At Christmas time more people in the UK are injured through inexperience with ladders than from electric shock.
  • Do not allow Children to play with Christmas lights.
  • Above all- take care and have fun!
