Top Tips
- Always place your solar panel, or if the product has an integral panel, in an area where sunlight will reach it. If you place solar string lights in your tree and have the solar panel in the tree too, chances are this will not charge as fully as it should.
- If the product you have bought has a multi-function setting then having it on static will drain the charge quicker than choosing a flashing or twinkling function.
- To get the best brightness out of your solar lights you must give your product a full 8 hours charge in direct sunlight – solar lights won’t charge if it’s a completely cloudy day so do remember this.
- Solar lights are really a Spring and Summer product! You will find that your lights will perform extremely well in the Summer months with days of sunshine, however do remember that if you are planning to use solar fairy lights as Christmas lights you need clear skies and some Winter sun!

We recommend using solar net lights if you are looking to dress hedges, walls or just anywhere really quickly! We have done some timing in the Lights4fun office and we believe we have got this down to less than 2 minutes from start to finish. They are simple to install and instantly give a clean and professional look.
LED Solar Lights
Choose solar fairy lights, available in 50 or 100 LED, for dressing pergolas, trees and small bushes where a net light wouldn’t stretch. These are also simple to install, just remember to place the solar panel in a location where it can charge.
