As the days get longer and warmer, we’re all catching the spring fever. Wanting to be outside surrounded by blooming flowers, feeling the sun on our faces and breathing in the fresh air.
But what if I don’t have a large garden? How do I get the most out of the season? The answer - bring the outside in. There are many different ways to welcome spring into your home, without putting in too much time and effort. We’re going to take you through our favourite ways to bring the joy of spring into our homes, ready to share it with our family and friends.
We know spring is truly here when pops of colour start blooming everywhere. Whether it’s delightful daffodils or cheerful cherry blossom trees, the signs of emerging life are all around us. Bring that wonder into your home with gentle pastels of green, lilac, pink, and white. Lining surfaces with vases, cushions, and blankets in these colours will bring soft springtime magic, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere – whether you’re hosting guests or just want to cuddle up into a corner with a good book. To add another level of snugness, dot TruGlow® candles in pastel colours over tables and shelves, and allow the soft glow of candlelight to wrap you in a peaceful bubble.
One of the simplest ways to brighten up a room is with flower power. Artificial blooms can be a fun alternative to real flowers and you get to enjoy them year after year. If you want just a touch of spring, a bouquet of daisies, peonies, and wildflowers in a pink ceramic vase creates a beautiful centrepiece. However, you can get more creative if you want to bring the entire meadow inside. Small wreaths are the perfect addition to any candle; it appears to sit on a bed of flowers. Alternatively, they can be styled with cutlery, crockery, and napkins to create pretty place settings, which are sure to be a key talking point with dinner guests.
Long daisy garlands can be draped across the table amongst candles and plates, so family and friends can feast in the flowers. And, for extra flare, you can wrap one of the garlands around a hanging decoration or light above the table. Everyone will feel the joy of being completely immersed in the softest springtime within a forest of florals.
There are aesthetic themes you can adapt for your home, which focus on a closer connection to nature. One example that we’ve started seeing more of is cottagecore. It leans into the idea of simple rural life – think vintage, rustic, and whimsical décor. You can easily capture the cosiness of a cottage by adding small touches around your home. Soft linens and other textiles can be used as table cloths or to drape over furniture to soften the space, while wooden or antique furnishings create a warm, homely area for your guests to gather. Pair warm neutral tones and soft earthy pastels to create cosy comfort with plenty of cushions and blankets to help family and friends feel at home.
We hope these tips have inspired you to bring the outside in – whether you have a large garden, a small garden, or no garden at all, you can still make the most of spring. This is a season of new life, growth, and beginnings, so why not reflect this by rejuvenating your own home? Let your imagination run wild and find your own way of spreading springtime magic.
