Dining Alfresco

Written by: Flo Oldridge

We’ve spent days, weeks, months dreaming of the time we can hold our loved ones closer, laugh a little louder and smile a little wider. The time is finally here, so let’s make the most of it! Whether you’re firing up the BBQ, ordering in a pizza or bubbling up a hot curry in the kitchen, take it outside and dine alfresco.

Hosting For A Few

With the option to host up to 30 people outdoors, there’s no time like the present to have family and friends over. First point of call is the food, right? Beaming sunshine calls for a BBQ! Simply pop a few juicy burgers on the grill, complete with a buffet of sides and sweets. When it comes to the decor, we envision bright colours, wacky patterns and quirky accessories! Whether the sun shines or the rain decides to make an appearance, our outdoor connectable lights provide an effortless glow to all corners of your garden. They are super easy to connect, fixing a string as long or as little as you need. You can go the extra mile by adding bunches of balloons and fruit themed crockery. Continue the theme throughout your space with outdoor micro lights entwined around plants. These are a simple, cost effective way of adding a splash of colour to your greenery. Powered by the sun, they will charge throughout the day and glow into the evening.

Table For Two

Keep the spark alive and bring date night to the garden. Despite bright colours arriving with a bang, the neutral tones are still very much on-trend this season. With patterns such as gingham taking lead, you can turn your day to day outdoor hub into a romantic sanctuary in a few simple steps. Firstly arrange a set up for two, use a bistro set or simply dress one end of your garden table. Secondly, add a table cloth, place mats and your essential cutlery too. The key to creating a romantic display is by dimming the lights and adding a warm glow which can be done effortlessly with the help of our outdoor TruGlow® candles. Place between foliage to create a centrepiece on your table or position in clusters of three on the ground around your seating. The flames will flicker through the evening, adding a warm glow as you make the most of your time together.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Create some school holiday fun and picnic in the garden with the kids this summer. Start by seeking out your favourite sunny spot, we advise somewhere a few steps away from the house to escape the daily routine and relax together. Throw down a blanket and dress with scatter cushions and throws for added comfort. Pack up everyone's favourite sandwiches, drinks and snacks into a basket and head outdoors. Surprise the kids with some extra guests, our super sweet rattan characters will join you without eating all the leftover snacks! Their waterproof coating allows them to sit outside throughout the season, bringing joy to your space everyday. Play games such as eye-spy and enjoy some quality family time.
