How To: Style Your Garden with Lanterns

When it comes to adding sparkle to your garden in spring, lanterns are a fantastic choice. Not only do they cast a warm golden glow, they can also add pops of colour and artful styling in the bright light of day. Here are our favourite ways to use different lanterns to brighten up the garden – just in time for those longer days.
Glow at Ground Level
One sure fire way of adding interest to your garden is utilising different sized lanterns. This means you can play around with levels, adding depth to the space. Larger lanterns can easily find a home at ground level – they’re a statement not to be ignored. Use large Brixham lanterns to frame the entrance of your greenhouse or garden steps, so guests feel like they’re getting the royal welcome with a carpet of light. They’re also practical - their shine is a guiding light through your garden at night.
Sparkle from Above
To tie a space together, it’s a good idea to add an element of height. Lucena tassel lanterns are perfect for this. - Glass jars which you can fill with bundled micro lights for an extra bright sparkle, and then finish with a ribbon bow or patterned fabric over the lid.
- Paper lanterns which are perfect to pair with LED tea lights to avoid real flames, you can really have fun experimenting with different patterns and shapes.
- Wood - this one’s for all the wood workers out there. You can create a rustic lantern that feels warm and welcoming with distressed wood.
One last piece of advice – most LED lanterns are either battery or solar powered, so when styling your garden, make sure to consider what power source works best for you. Ultimately, whichever lanterns you choose, you can easily style them to give your garden a literal glow-up.
