Into the Garden: How to Get Your Garden Ready for Spring

Written by: Millie Breakspeare

The flowers have woken from their hibernation and Spring has finally sprung. It’s the perfect time to breathe new life into your garden now winter has melted away. Here are some of our favourite ways to get the garden ready for the new season.

Lean into Easter

Easter and spring fit together like a glove, both representing change and growth for the year to come. Have fun leaning into chalky pastels of green, yellow, pink, and white to add cheerful pops of colour throughout the space in the form of blankets, cushions, vases, or candles. For a special seasonal touch, add porcelain bunny decorations or an easter garland. They’ll bring a spark of joy whilst you sip your morning tea in the spring sunshine.

Beautiful Botanicals

The flowerbeds may only just be starting to bloom, but artificial flowers in mismatched vases can be dotted around to brighten up your patio space. You can also use them in a bouquet for a table centre piece – ready to host your first alfresco meal of the year. For a feast among the flowers, drape the table with floral garlands and hang up beautiful flower wreaths so your family and friends feel fully immersed in the joyful new season.

Wonderful Wood

When we think of spring, baby animals, fresh produce, and cherry blossom trees all come to mind. Bring this farmhouse feel to your garden with distressed wooden furniture, which you can pair with a rustic tablecloth to create a warm and welcoming area that guests will feel at home in. Let’s not forget to add some mismatched blankets and cushions so everyone can get comfortable. Add to the aesthetic by placing wooden lanterns around the garden to create a wonderful warm glow.

Sparkle in Spring

As spring settles in you might find yourself whiling away the hours in your greenhouse or potting shed. Add a little sparkle to your workspace without the risk of a real flame with TruGlow® candles and lanterns, the warm light will cast a beautiful glow as the sun sets. You can also hang daisy festoon lights to create some seasonal magic and a cosy nook where you can spend your evening in peace.
