Light Ideas For Your Little One's Space

Written by: Ellie Cox

Give your little one that dream bedroom they've always wanted! You can truly make it their own and add a personal touch, paying attention to those thoughtful details which they will appreciate so much. We have some top tips on how you can light up a smile on your little one’s face with a few simple decorative additions to their room.

Spread Some Positivity!

Rainbows have seen a rising trend over the past year, with many of us taking to displaying them in our windows as a symbol of hope during these challenging times. Our Rainbow Wall light is a bright & cheerful accessory for your little one’s bedroom, introducing colour to their space instantly and is also ideal for decorating playrooms or nurseries!

Spreading positivity has also become an important topic recently and our Hello Sunshine Wall Light is an uplifting feature to include in your decor. It's perfect for bringing a touch of sunshine indoors during the dark, cold winter months and is bound to put your little one in a good mood as soon as they wake up in the morning! It can be displayed on the wall using the hanging holes or it can be sat on top of a shelf or chest of drawers in their room. Neon lights are trending for 2021 and they make a stand-out display piece wherever they go! Not only do they look great in bedrooms, they also work well in living areas and workspaces.

Create A Sense Of Escapism

Creating that sense of escapism in your little one's room is key, especially during these unusual times. With the schools closed and children spending a lot of time at home, it's important to distinguish which rooms are for different activities. As home-schooling has become the new norm, make sure you have an area in your home which is dedicated to schoolwork away from their bedroom. They can then use their bedroom as the place where they can escape to once the school day has finished.

Warm white lighting will help to relax them, turning their room into a sanctuary where they can zone out for a little while. Fairy lights are flexible in their use and there are different shapes & colours you can opt for, based on your little one's preference. You can wrap them around bedframes, drape from shelves or hang vertically from walls, depending on where you think they fit best within their space. If they prefer vibrant colours as opposed to subtle lighting, you can choose multi coloured lights instead!

For The Even Littler Ones!

You can also decorate your baby's nursery with a few cosy lighting additions. Wall lights are great as they provide just enough light if you need to go and check on your little one during the night. They have a handy 6 hour timer so they'll switch on and off at the same time each evening or you can keep them glowing throughout the night, they constantly remain cool so it's safe to do so!

Our Cloud Silhouette Night Light is a simple yet soothing addition to their room and is perfect for displaying on the wall above their cot. Similarly, our Balloon Wall Light fits well with a pastel themed room and is a fun feature for a little one's space. The light's cord has been designed as the balloon's string, enabling you to switch it on and off again by simply pulling on it! You could opt for a 'head in the clouds' theme and feature both wall lights, by dedicating one wall in the room to your display. Choose some sky themed wallpaper or put your art skills to the test and paint your own sky to create the illusion of being in the clouds!

Incorporate Their Interests

Whether it's their favourite animal or their favourite sport, you can consider ways to personalise your little one's bedroom with features which relate to their interests. Introduce themed lighting and incorporate other decor which complements this, to keep it consistent throughout. Soft furnishings such as themed cushions, rugs and bedding will help add to the overall effect.

Our Llama Wall Light is a fun and friendly character to introduce into any animal lover's room! You can sit it on their bedside table to keep them company on a night, it's a unique alternative to your average table lamp. For the ultimate look, you can also style our Llama Fairy Lights within their space to add different levels to the display. Hang them high up across the ceiling or along the foot of their bed, their warm white LEDs will bring them to life each evening. If your little one loves sport, why not look for ways to incorporate this into their room instead? Our Football Fairy Lights are a must-have for any budding footballers! Featuring 10 mini footballs across 1.35m of cable, they're easy to display and are bound to be a winner with your little one.
