At Lights4fun, we’re proud to be supporting Starlight Children’s Foundation. Starlight is the national charity dedicated to the protection of play for seriously ill children in hospital and at home. They use the power of play to make the experience of illness and treatment better for children and their families.

Giving back to both our local and wider community is of huge importance to us at Lights4fun and we are so proud to be working closely with Starlight to support this amazing cause.

Now in its fifth year, Play in Hospital Week is taking place between 10th – 14th October 2022 and aims to raise awareness of the benefits of play in the treatment of seriously ill children across the UK.

It’s an opportunity to champion the importance of play in hospital and highlight the work of the fantastic play specialists and other play professionals within the NHS. Play specialists are some of the many unsung heroes of the NHS, who work tirelessly to make sure that the children in their care can still experience the joy and value of play.

Starlight will be celebrating the work of play professionals with their annual Starlight Health Play Awards to recognise the dedication, ingenuity and resilience of Play Specialists and other health professionals who are changing the experience of hospital treatment for seriously ill children.
