Sunny side up

Written by: Claire Sugden

Welcome to a sweet, retro story where the sun’s always shining, even when it isn’t. It’s time to get outside: balconies become breakfast nooks, patios host parties and candlelit picnics, and gardens glow prettily as the days get longer and lighter. Thrifted décor paired with old-fashioned festoon bulbs lends a vintage feel to spaces, and we welcome in a bright and gorgeously optimistic springtime with pops of petal pink and sunflower yellow.

Pops of colour

Clusters of candles in cheery colours are paired with relaxed décor and soft furnishings in mismatched prints. We love a thrifted look this season: think patchwork blankets and glowing, DIY lampshade displays. Pretty springtime foliage completes the look, with light-up garlands and wreaths spreading the joy to front doors, sideboards and mantlepieces alike.

Springtime sparkle

After sleepy winter months, get your garden ready for its season in the spotlight. Trees draped with fairy lights and laden with solar fabric lanterns bring instant happiness to any space, big or small, whilst garden lanterns flicker softly as the sun goes down. Even the flowerbeds are full of sparkle: use stake lights and spot lights to show off your springtime blooms to the best of their advantage!

Everyone’s Invited

Tablescapes overflowing with colour, light and personality are the key to hosting this season: nothing stuffy, nothing serious, just heaps of fun. Pillar and taper candles in fresh, lively prints dotted between micro light garlands and seasonal foliage play host to all manner of gatherings – any excuse to get together!

Relaxed, informal, happy thrown-together and unapologetically cheery, this is a season of positivity and radiant self-expression: good vibes, whatever the weather.
