This regular candle takes 3 x AAA batteries (not included) and features a rocker switch on the base. You have 3 options to choose from: ON, OFF or TIMER (6 hours on, 18 hour off). You can expect up to 50 hours of illumination of continued use before batteries will need to be changed if you're using regular supermarket AAA's. For the eco-friendly amongst us, or ones looking for ease of use, choose the 6 hour timer, you'll have just over a week of illumination without having to touch the candle.
